Artists supporting artists – how much better can it get? The 26th Annual Riverssance Festival of Fine Art is where you want to be September 21 and 22, 2013 – and be sure to book your rooms with us and you’ll be just three miles from a fan-tas-tic fine art weekend at a hotel near the Riverssance Festival.

What’s going on at Riverssance this year? First, you’ll find booths for nearly 100 artists from around the country. With $3000 in prize money, Riverssance continues to attract great talent that’s built the Festival’s reputation as one of the best and biggest Midwest fine arts festivals.

Riverssance organizers want everyone to come – even the kids. A local sponsor provides the Children’s Art Tent, where kids of all ages can do a make-and-take art project free of charge. How much more reason do you need to pack up the fam and spend the weekend with us at the Riverssance Festival? Psst: this year there are three make-and-take projects kids can choose from.

This year participants will again have an opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award on Saturday. The winning artist will receive a trophy and $150 at the Sunday artists’ breakfast. How cool!

And what is a Festival without music? Riverssance raises the bar with exceptional music of a wide variety. Saturday Festival-goers will be treated to Irish/Celtic, American, Folk, Funk, Acoustic, Acoustic Soul and Blues. What a lineup of great sounds!

Sunday we’ll be rockin’ to Funk, Folk, Rock, Blues, Jazz and R&B. Wow . . . now that’s some amazing lineup!

All that music making you hungry?You’ll be in the right place to taste a variety of foods that rival the variety of music. Organizers take their time choosing food vendors so you have the best and yummiest variety, including some gourmet selections. Well, it’s what goes best with fine art, you know.

But wait – we forgot the wine tasting. If you’re over 21, visit the Wine Garden and get your etched Riverssance wine glass and six tickets for 1-ounce samples, all for just $10. Our tasting sponsor produces 15 wine varieties at their local vineyard, and almost all are made with Iowa grapes.Wait – wine from Iowa? Yes – and you’ll be tasting wines that consistently win gold medals and Best of Class in – get this – international competitions.

Yup. We might not have as many cows, but we know how to make grapes real happy.
